Entitled ” Using digital technologies to better support young people experiencing integration difficulties in the Mediterranean”, this good practices guide offers integration and vocational training professionals tips and ways to deepen or develop their uses of digital tools in their accompaniment activities.

Seventeen students celebrated their graduation from La Boulangerie Francaise Ho Chi Minh City. Every year, the bakery school supported by the European Institute of Cooperation and Development (IECD) provides 20 young people from vulnerable backgrounds with technical and soft skills to be competent bakers and pastry chefs. Despite the challenging economic context due to the Covid-19, 85% of graduates have secured employment.

Result of a pioneering collaboration between the MedNC network and the web media “Les Haut-Parleurs”, this documentary series gives eight young people the chance to raise their voice. The four girls and four boys, from four Mediterranean countries, have all dropped out of the school system for a time but have recently been reintegrated through an occupational inclusion scheme.

Between June and October 2020, classrooms were filled to the brim again for the start of the new school year in the IECD’s countries of intervention despite the COVID-19 health crisis. Faced with a context that remains very uncertain and degraded teaching methods, the IECD’s teams are pursuing their mission alongside the young people and their teachers. 

The economic crisis affecting Lebanon is threatening to close private schools. The IECD has decided to support more than 1000 students through an assistance to to four schools in need, to allow them to go back to school in September.

At last the much awaited reunions between students and teachers in Madagascar, after two months of remote interactions.

In Syria, the IECD has overcome the consequences of the health crisis by launching online training courses and strengthening its support for young people, entrepreneurs and families.

Amid the coronavirus crisis, The IECD’s teams in Lebanon are being increasingly inventive to ensure the continuity of training. 

In 2020, Monin reaffirms its commitment alongside the IECD by signing a partnership agreement.

In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the IECD is updating its intervention methods so as to maintain its activities.
