In South-East Asia, despite sustained economic growth, many vulnerable young people remain excluded from skilled employment opportunities due to a lack of suitable training and support in finding work. To address these challenges, the IECD is implementing a regional approach based on building on and replicating proven models in the hospitality, catering, bakery and vehicle maintenance sectors.

In collaboration with regional partners, the IECD is co-developing training programmes, strengthening centres through the ASSET H&C network and developing training programmes that incorporate social enterprises as learning platforms.

At the same time, the IECD supports entrepreneurs in increasing their turnover and the creation of sustainable jobs.
