In order to take action for socio-economic development in the countries in which it operates, the IECD develops close partnerships with companies, foundations and associations. Partners bring financial resources, material and technical support as well as their technical expertise.
Building partnerships with national and international companies is at the heart of IECD’s approach. For IECD, companies play a key role in local development, not only through their actions but also their understanding of the social and economic context in which they operate.
Customised partnerships
IECD listens carefully to the requests and needs of companies on the ground. IECD proposes activities or customised projects with or for them in accordance with the company’s priorities. Depending on the situation, the objectives of such projects may respond to a local development need within the company’s operational scope; may contribute to its geographical or thematic priorities; or may be to take part in the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of the beneficiaries, in accordance with the company’s business.

Partnerships for the most vulnerable people
IECD builds lasting relationships with associations and philanthropic foundations. These associations and foundations provide material or financial support to projects that are consistent with their values and causes. This is particularly the case for child protection, assistance to people with disabilities, vocational training and professional integration, support to income-generating activities or rural development.
For 27 years, IECD has thus built close partnerships with associations and philanthropic foundations, such as La Fondation Drosos, Lord Michelham of Hellingly or the associations Frères de nos Frères and ACTEC.
