Call for proposals

Supporting youth in the Western Mediterranean

An initiative of :

The Principality of Monaco  (the International Cooperation Office) and the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (Inter-ministerial Delegate for the Mediterranean and Delegation for Relations with Civil Society and Partnerships), in collaboration with the IECD, launch today, on Wednesday, April 15th, a call for proposals to support youth in the Western Mediterranean.

Eligible civil society organisations from Algeria, France, Italy, Libya, Malta, Mauritania, Monaco, Morocco, Portugal, Spain and Tunisia are invited to submit projects in favour of the Mediterranean youth in the fields of education, vocational training, socio-economic integration, mobility and social and solidarity economy.

This unprecedented action is part of the dynamics of the Summit of the Two Shores and the signing in Marseilles on June 23rd, 2019 of the “Commitments for a new ambition in the Mediterranean” by the Foreign Ministers of the 5+5 which highlighted the MedNC network amongst other initiatives.

In the particular context of the COVID-19 pandemic, this call for proposals will suport initiatives which are part of a crisis/post crisis response approach in the selected fields.

Eligibility criteria

Projects shall be submitted by a consortium made up of a civil society organization from the southern shore (Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia) and one civil society organisation from the northern shore (France, Italy, Malta, Monaco, Portugal, Spain).

The selected initiatives will receive grants of between 10 000€ and 15 000€.

Projects should start by October 2020 and be completed by the last quarter of 2021.

The complete application files shall be sent no later than Sunday, May 31st, 2020, at aap@iecd.org.
