THE INSTITUTE FOR INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY (IIT) IN NIGERIA HAS BEEN AWARDED A PRIZE FOR ITS TRAINING IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING !

The ITT gets its reward !

In May 2017, the Institute for Indiustrial Technology (ITT) had the honour of receiving the ”Most Innovative in Education in Nigeria” prize from the West African newspaper “Business Day” for its innovative work in education in Nigeria with its “Seeds of Hope” program. The IIT, a partner of the IECD, has received the credit for its positive impact on the youth who have been able to seize this opportunity to find work in areas that are needed. It has also been congratulated by industrial enterprises who are now able to find qualified labour, which in turn has stimulated the local economy.

Electrical Engineering: the latest choice in vocational training for Nigerians
The “Seeds of Hope” program which specialises in those areas pertaining to energy and maintenance, was launched in 2007 in Lebanon, with the objective of offering high quality training to young people who have no qualifications, whilst responding to the growing needs of this expanding sector. It is composed of three principle elements:    the renewal of technical training, the creation of partnerships with companies and finally the accompaniment of young people as they enter the workplace. After its resounding success in Lebanon, “Seeds of Hope” has been introduced in seven countries, including Nigeria, in partnership with The Institute for Industrial Technology (ITT) and the relevant industrial enterprises.
In developing a scheme for training in electrical engineering, which only became available to be studied in 2014 in Nigeria, the ITT has a innovative and visionary approach which is able to respond to the growing demands of industry
