Casablanca dedicated to Second Chance Schools (E2C).<\/strong><br data-start=\"295\" data-end=\"298\" \/>The goal: to share experiences, strengthen synergies, and advance the professional integration of early school leavers.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" style=\"text-align: left;\" data-start=\"662\" data-end=\"709\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-featured_large wp-image-33895\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iecd.org\/iecd2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/img-20250424-112003-103-1280x630.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"630\" \/><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"56\" data-end=\"417\"><strong data-start=\"56\" data-end=\"295\">On April 24 and 25, 2025, the IECD and the Mediterranean New Chance Network (MedNC) brought together over 70 stakeholders from five href=\"https:\/\/european-union.europa.eu\/index_en\">European Union<\/a> and implemented by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilo.org\/resource\/news\/number-youth-not-employment-education-or-training-neet-cause-concern\">International Labour Organization<\/a> (ILO), with technical support from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etf.europa.eu\/en\">European Training Foundation<\/a> (ETF).<br data-start=\"632\" data-end=\"635\" \/>It gathered institutional representatives, civil society organizations, trainers, employment professionals, companies, and young people themselves from Morocco, Tunisia, Portugal, Spain, and Montenegro.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"892\"><strong data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"892\">Concrete solutions to tackle early school leaving<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"894\" data-end=\"1294\">With one in three young people in the MENA region classified as NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training), <strong><span style=\"color: #c1022c;\">Second Chance Schools are emerging as a relevant, inclusive, and innovative response<\/span><\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1095\" \/>Through presentations, working groups, and field visits, participants exchanged ideas on pedagogical practices, support tools, public-private partnerships, and key levers for sustainable integration.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1520\">The visit to the Sidi Moumen E2C in Casablanca highlighted the impact of a model based on shared governance between NGOs and public authorities, where training is adapted to local realities and the needs of vulnerable youth.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1522\" data-end=\"1569\"><strong data-start=\"1522\" data-end=\"1569\">A stronger dialogue with the private sector<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1571\" data-end=\"2018\">At the heart of the discussions was the need to reinforce the link between training and employment. <strong><span style=\"color: #c1022c;\">The workshop emphasized the importance of more actively involving the private sector in designing training pathways and defining the skills required<\/span><\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"1823\" \/>Several key recommendations emerged, including formal recognition of E2C programs, the creation of certification or labeling systems, and the need to strengthen the capacity of pedagogical teams.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2020\" data-end=\"2050\"><strong data-start=\"2020\" data-end=\"2050\">A growing regional dynamic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2052\" data-end=\"2363\">Driven by the IECD and the MedNC network, this workshop marks a key milestone in building a Mediterranean ecosystem dedicated to supporting vulnerable youth.<br data-start=\"2209\" data-end=\"2212\" \/>It confirms that <strong><span style=\"color: #c1022c;\">social innovation, peer learning, and international cooperation are powerful levers to address the challenges of early school leaving<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2365\" data-end=\"2574\">Participants left with practical tools, new ideas, and renewed conviction: by joining forces, stakeholders on both shores of the Mediterranean can create lasting solutions for a generation seeking opportunity.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div><div
