The IECD Sectors of Intervention

The IECD is currently involved in around thirty projects in fifteen countries in Africa, the Near East, Latin America and South-East Asia.

Through 20 years of experience, the IECD has been able to identify 2 principal challenges for developing  countries:
- the under-qualification of young people upon entering the professional sector,
- the lack of managerial knowledge, specifically in the Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) sector where the highest number of jobs are created.

To meet these challenges, the IECD has established long-term projects and partnerships with local organizations whose key objectives are:
- developing technical and vocational training centres to meet the ever-growing requirements of local businesses for qualified labour,
- consolidating and developing managerial skills for Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) and for craftsmen through an offer of non-financial services adapted to the specific activity.
The IECD is also devoted to strengthening and improving health and welfare structures in all the countries where it is involved.
